A combination of Yin practice (working on the deep connective tissues and joints to improve flexibility and joint mobility) and Yang practice (working on muscles and blood flow to strengthen and tone the body) to balance the body mind and spirit.
 
In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time — typically three to five minutes or longer — to target the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, rather than focus on the muscles. As a result, the poses are more passive holds with little active engagement of the muscles.

Developed in India, Yang yoga is what the Western world thinks of as yoga — Hatha and Ashtanga yoga asanas and vinyasas that warm the body and stretch and strengthen the muscles. Yin/Yang yoga typically includes the yang portion of practice in the second half of class.

By combining the two styles of yoga, Yin/Yang yoga improves energy and fitness while promoting relaxation and healing.

Reiki & Sound Restorative & Meditation Yoga 

Reiki is a gentle method of hands on healing technique. It involves channelling the universal life force (Reiki) through the hands and into the body. Naomi is level 3 reiki practitioner (reiki master), currently undertaking level 4 (master teacher) apprenticeship with Joan Miller and Steven Henderson.

This class may include pranayama techniques (breathing) and visualisation. It’s a guided meditation with crystal singing bowl sound healing and hands on reiki (less than 5mins depending on number of clients in the class). You may feel a flowing/tingling sensation; relaxed or fall asleep during the class. It’s a journey within - accessing the stillness, peace and love that are always residing in you.

Class duration is 60mins:

May include gentle warm-up to release tension & open up the body (supine or seated).

different styles that brings together the Pilates method of movement series with High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), referred to as Tabata to improve physical strength and cardiovascular fitness, weight loss, stress reduction, and concentration and tone your body.
 
The Pilates Sculpt classes will include 1kg or 2kg hand weights.
