Kirtan & Chanting with “Prasada”

Saturday 22nd Feb 2020

Our kirtan community goes from strength to strength.

Join us (we call ourselves Prasada meaning “sweet things” or “divine treats”) and special musical guests for another evening of blissful mantra chanting and powerful music to open your heart and find inner stillness. Enjoy new chants, new faces, same inner smile!
No one needs to have a “good voice”, we are just here to serve the chant and invoke all that is mysterious and divine by chanting from our hearts.

Join Mark O’Brien, Mahavidya and our fabulous kirtan band, musicians and singers.

All proceeds go to local charity, supporting Manly women’s Shelter

Kirtan (Sanskrit mantra chanting with music) is one of the easiest and safest methods of achieving inner peace, which other methods of meditation may take years to achieve.

Kirtan is thought by many Sages to be the foremost practice in the present Kali Yuga (Material or Dark Age).Meditation doesn’t come easy for many people, but Kirtan can carry us effortlessly to a place of quiet, to stillness. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras, the kirtan calls upon sacred energies which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles, and bring us back to the center of our being.
There is no requirement to be able to sing at all. Simply join the energy and rhythm and see what happens!

Here’s a throwback to a recent kirtan…

Cancellation up to 48 hours prior to event date is possible subject to a $5 cancellation fee. Less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is only possible if we can fill your place from a wait-list.

Mark KirtanThe evening will be hosted by Mark O’Brien, founder of Qi and avid Kirtaneer, along with other local musicians.

His musical roots go back into his childhood and now allow him to combine his passion for yoga with his yearning to realize the mystery and divinity all around us.

Mahavidya’s  Life passion is to guide people through their personal transformations, breaking through the limits of the mind to be able to live freely. Coming from a family of healers, the desire to understand who she truly was became her personal goal. She traveled to India to attend a Nada Yoga teacher training (Yoga of sound based on the sacredness of mantra) which brought a whole new meaning to her Life, opening space for her true expression to be manifested through the integration with Reiki.
