Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is an exhilarating and flowing Yoga founded by Sri Pattabhi Jois. A challenging and dynamic series of postures develops a light, strong body and a calm mind. It is our most gymnastic yoga style which “stokes the fires within”. This flowing Yoga style helps to detoxify muscles and organs.
As you become familiar with the sequence, the practice becomes an intense, moving meditation, building strength, balance, focus and ultimately relaxation.
You’ll find 3 kinds of Ashtanga class at Qi:
Ashtanga Fundamentals: Enjoy learning the fundamentals of Ashtanga then join our Ashtanga Flow classes to put it all together! These flowing classes are more suitable for newer students to the Ashtanga method. A flowing class which will also break down the techniques needed to build a safe, rewarding and enlightening practice.
Suited to beginners to experienced students.
Ashtanga Flow: Suitable for those with more experience of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. This class will lead you through a flowing practice of the Primary Series and assumes some kowledge of the ashtanga sequence. It will spend less time on foundation techniques and allow you to enjoy the full effect of this majestic and challenging practice.
Suited to those with some experience in Ashtanga Fundamentals classes.
Mysore style: If you enjoy the grace and power of the Ashtanga method you can join in our Mysore style sessions early every Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning at Qi Manly to really experience the rewards and insights from this Yoga style.
