Corona Brady (Sat Parvan)

Birthplace?  Cavan, Ireland

When did you move to OZ ? 15 years ago on Australia Day

What’s your signature dish when you cook?
Curry, I have a very special Sri Lankan beetroot curry recipe that is delicious and is always a hit!

Tea or Coffee?
Oh that’s a tough one. I love herbal tea of any kind and I do like my once a day coffee (it’s a morning ritual for me). So I would have to say both!

Favourite café?
Orchard Street in Bondi. It’s super cute and there vegan food is to die for. They make their own plant based milk in house.
And over this side, Ruby Lane 🙂

Cat or Dog?   Dog!

Star Sign?  Sagittarius Sun, Virgo Moon and Cancer Ascendant.

What quote do you live by?
You owe it to yourself to be yourself. Yogi Bhajan
My interpretation of this quote is that there is no one else like you on the planet. You are unique and being yourself and living your truth is your greatest power.

What Yoga style do you practice?
Kundalini! I just love how transformational this practice is.

How did you start yoga?
I found yoga (or yoga found me you could say) when I was 19 and suffering with extreme anxiety. I did an 8 week course in Dublin and I have been in love ever since.

Can you sum up what Yoga gives to you in a few words?
So much, but to name a few; clarity, inner harmony and peace, strength, grace, radiance, sovereignty and creativity.

When and where did you do your first Teacher Training?
I did my first 350 Hour training with Amanda Fuzes in Rosebay. It was a wonderful in depth training over the course of 12 months in Hatha Yoga.

Favourite pose?
Frog pose, for the reason being that I love how alive I feel after this pose. It also has many amazing benefits like opening the flow of energy in the second chakra area of the body, the pelvis and sex organs. It builds your sexual potency and balances the sexual energies.

Least favourite pose?
I don’t really have any least favourite poses!

If you could study with any teacher, who would it be and why?
I am blessed to have two amazing kundalini teachers (Sat Sarbat and Sat Mukh) who I have been training with for the past 6 years. I have a deep fascination in the tantric numerology side of Kundalini Yoga and I would love to study with Shiv Sharan Singh.

Best in-class blooper?
One that springs to mind is tuning out in the wrong singing tone ?

Where would be your ultimate Yoga retreat destination?
The Greek Islands, it will happen one day very soon 🙂

What do you love most about your job?
I love being of service. It’s my life now, and I’m so grateful for it. I love seeing how surprised my clients and students are when they make amazing transformational life changes. I’m just grateful to be the catalyst for their change.

What have you given up to teach yoga?
A very stressful corporate banking job that led me to complete burnout which left me with two choices.
1) Soldier on
2) To reassess my life. I chose the second option and I have not looked back!

What have you gained by teaching yoga?
So much. Surrender and trusting in myself and a stronger connection with my intuition but most importantly the power of the kundalini teachings and what they offer my students.

What was the best thing about COVID lock-down?
The chance to slow down and truly focus on some exciting creative projects like the creation of a new women’s online program and a rebrand coming soon 🙂

If you could talk to your pre-yoga self, what would you tell her?
To stop people pleasing and caring about what others think. To drop the façade and step fully into her authentic self, to own her power as a woman and to love herself.

What hobbies/activities do you have outside yoga?
I’m running my coaching business where I empower women to reclaim their energy, innate power and self-worth.

Also I am pretty active and I love spending time outdoors in nature. You’ll find me walking by the ocean, trekking, swimming in the ocean, salsa dancing, cooking in the kitchen and pretty much anything where I am moving my physical body!

How long have you taught at Qi?
It will be a year this coming October and I feel blessed 🙂
