What Yoga style do you practice? Yin, Hatha and Vinyasa, mostly.

How did you start yoga? When I was growing up we lived next door to some Satyananda Yogis. My mum made my sister and I practice one of their “by donation” classes. We spent the hour and a half trying not to look at each other and crack up laughing.

As a 14 year old, that turned me off, for a solid 10 years. I returned to my mat with a broken heart… and fell in love.

Can you sum up what Yoga gives to you in a few words? Self awareness, space and nourishment.

When and where did you do your first Teacher Training? 2013 in Spain.

Favourite pose? Janu Sirsasana (head to knee pose)

Least favourite pose? Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow pose)

If you could study with any teacher, who would it be and why? Tough one!!  Shiva Rea.. The idea of fluid, graceful, strong yoga like water, speaks to me

Best in-class blooper? Too many to go there… Nip slips, laughs during OM’s.. One time I told my class during bridge to lift their hips, imagining Jake Gyllenhall was on the ceiling!

Lululemon or Dharmabums? LuLu.

Where would be your ultimate Yoga retreat destination? Mexico, or Santorini.

What do you love most about your job? Watching students cultivate self awareness, observing students slowly piece their brokeness back to wholeness, seeing student reach milestones that all stem from their understanding of yoga on and off the mat.

What have you given up to teach yoga? Just my sleep-ins and a previous life in which I didn’t feel like myself.

If you could talk to your pre-yoga self, what would you tell her? To take off her mask and embody herself wholeheartedly.

What hobbies/activities do you have outside yoga?  I write, sun worship, and walk my pooch Frankie.
