Bowen Technique |
Bowen Therapy is a dynamic yet very subtle healing tool. Bowen is a manual therapy that restores balance in the body by using the neural pathways to bring the structures of the body back into alignment. Bowen also works to restore balance in the body through the lymphatic system and other body systems.
A treatment comprises sequences of small, gentle movements, each at a specific site on the body. There is no forceful manipulation, just a light cross-fibre manoeuvering of a muscle, tendon or ligament that is generally very pleasant for the recipient. Substantial relief is frequently attained after the first session and clients often only require two to three treatments.
Bowen Therapy will be effective on the musculo-skeletal system, the nervous system, the digestive system and the endocrine system. Conditions that respond well to Bowen Therapy include sports or accident injuries, RSI, sleep disorders, anxiety, stress, vertigo, PMT, menopause, migraines, tension headaches and irritable bowel syndrome.
