Yin Yoga contains the ancient, and some say original form of asana practice. If you sit crossed legged you know that this requires strength and flexibility round the spine and hips. The sensations experienced also arise from the deep connective tissues and joints of the body. These are referred to as the yin tissues of the body, relative to the more superficial yang tissues of muscle and skin. Yin Yoga opens up these deep, dense and for most often untouched/explored areas.
Yin Yoga focuses on depth in asana, to hold awareness with your breath.

Tantra gave rise to the Chakra system: subtle energy (prana) is thought to circulate through the physical and etheric body, and Chakras are nexus points of concentrated prana where these energy channels connect. We can promote healthy function and awareness of these centres through targetted yoga postures, breathing and visualisation.
This is the first in a series of workshops to work systematcally up through the 7 major Chakras to build awareness, stability and freedom in life and in yoga.

Your Root Chakra or Muladhara is the first Energy centre or Chakra of our etheric/energy body.
It's the building block for all the other chakras - the basis for our safety and security.

When aligned it can help us feel stable and abundant; when unbalanced it can leave us feeling anxious, ungrounded or lacking. From a healthy and steady foundation we can rise upwards in greater confidence to reach our higher potential !

Join Stephanie in this inspiring, practical 2 hour workshop to discover the wisdom behind balancing and clearing the first chakra. You'll learn asana, meditation and visualizations to enter this New Year feeling grounded , connected and abundant.

Join the Qi Kirtan community (we call ourselves Prasada meaning "sweet things" or "divine treats") and special musical guests for an evening of blissful chanting and powerful music to open your heart and connect directly with the Divine in all of us. New chants, new faces, same inner smile!

Kirtan (Sanskrit mantra chanting with music) is one of the easiest and safest methods of achieving inner peace, which other methods of meditation may take years to achieve.

Kirtan is thought by many Sages to be the foremost practice in the present Kali Yuga (Material or Dark Age). Meditation doesn't come easy for many people, but Kirtan can carry us effortlessly to a place of quiet, to stillness. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras, the kirtan calls upon sacred energies which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles, and bring us back to the center of our being.

There is no requirement to be able to sing at all.  Simply join the energy and rhythm and see what happens!

“Vinyasa” means “breath-synchronized movement.” In other words you move from one pose to the next with the breath in a flowing way. The poses often run together and become like a dance.

This style allows for a lot of variety, but will almost certainly include Sun Salutations. Expect movement, not just stretching and it may be fast or slow depending on the students and on the individual teacher.

A perfect balance of the restorative, surrendering qualities of Yin with the vibrant, energising qualities of Yang.
All areas of our body need to be used to maintain their functionality.s
Our Yang tissues are our muscles, and they love rhythmic movement. This is activating and energising and promotes essential structural stability.
Our Yin tissues, our gorgeous ligaments, also deserve attention and the opportunity to be more juicy. As we get older, the stiffness that we may feel, comes from a lack of working into these deeper areas. Yin is supportive and nourishing, promoting ease of mobility.
With this combination of Yin and Yang, we calm overexcited areas and remove stagnancy from others, allowing us to support our health and true happiness in a conscious, friendly way.
