The Movement Clinic: The Feet and Ankles

Sunday 10th Mar 2019

When it comes to the body, having a solid foundation is incredibly important.  Our feet contain over 100 muscles and 1/4 of the bones in the body. The way we use our feet has a knock-on effect throughout the body, relating to the health of our knees, hips, pelvis, and spine. Energetically, different points in our feet can inform our psycho-emotional experience.  So how come we know so little about them?

Join physiotherapist Mike Scott & yoga teacher Charlotte Messervy as they:

     – examine the anatomy of the feet and ankles

     – identify habits which contribute to muscle imbalances

     – workshop commonly problematic yoga poses

     – provide modifications to painful postures

     – introduce take home exercises to gain strength & mobility

Leave with more awareness and practical information to benefit your yoga practise and your life.

Cancellation up to 48 hours prior to event date is possible subject to a $5 cancellation fee. Less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is only possible if we can fill your place from a wait-list.

Charlotte Messervy and Mike Scott are a couple focused on education and empowerment.  Charlotte is a yoga teacher and corporate trainer while Mike is a physiotherapist ,who completed Qi’s yoga teacher training.  Together, they hope to demystify information about the body and movement, allowing people to feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin.

In their workshops, they zero in on troublesome or misunderstood areas of the body, exploring them in depth.  In these sessions, they consolidate and share information about anatomy (that anyone can understand), the causes of discomfort or disfunction, and provide simple strategies for further development in the area of focus.

These sessions are inclusive, informative, and practical.  If you have any requests for future workshops, please let us know!
