The fascination with more passive yoga practices is growing as a counterpoint to the frenetic wave of Vinyasa and stronger yoga styles. But Restorative Yoga is quite different from Yin Yoga and is far more than just lying over lots of bolsters and props!

It’s especially beneficial for those with injuries or illnesses and can be almost infinitely adapted to assist healing in most students.

This 12 hour training module will add real knowledge, confidence and skills to enhance your teaching and expand your ability to safely help a wider student audience. But you’ll also experience the subtle nuances of this form of practice yourself. So enjoy this course either way, as teacher, student or both!

Restorative DogYou will learn:

  • Detailed teaching on how to use props and poses for all student-types
  • Therapeutic principles to support all body-types and constitutions in restorative yoga
  • How we can revive our energy in restorative yoga
  • Sequencing principles for restorative classes
  • Creative use of props to ensure healthy alignment and breathing in the most effective postures
  • Somatic movement exercises to complement restorative practices
  • Teaching techniques for restorative classes
  • Trauma-informed protocols to make your teaching “trauma-aware”
  • The science behind stress management and how this form of yoga may contribute specific tools to help manage:

Anxiety-based Depression
Menstrual/cycle problems
Stress
Lowered immune system
Menopause and PMS
Natural fertility and more
Heart disease
Men’s health (Prostate and Colon health)

The booklet & photos are amazing. The practical demonstrations and assisting, as well as theory was a wonderful balance. It could hopefully help my students with pain relief.

Natalie - Yoga teacher

I just wanted to thank you sincerely for your generosity of spirit in sharing your valuable knowledge with us over the week of restorative yoga learning.

The notes are great and I revisited them and tried some of the sequences over the weekend.  It was a delight to learn more in depth about restorative yoga and I will definitely be back for more learning in the future.

K Glendenning
