Nada Yoga Level 2 Course with Shaila

Friday 16th Mar 2018

Nada Yoga Level 2 is open to all who have previously attended Shaila’s introductory Nada Yoga five-week course.

The content of Nada Yoga 2 builds on the foundations of Nada Yoga 1 and is tailored to suit the interests of the current intake.

This is a rare and intimate opportunity to:

  • Deepen your exploration of kirtan, including the chance to lead a kirtan yourself (optional)
  • Enjoy more opportunities to play harmonium, kartals and tampura
  • Develop and explore your voice with more advanced SWARA work (vocal training and toning using the Indian classical scale)
  • Learn the theory and practice of key powerful Sanskrit mantras for healing, wisdom and strength
  • Deepen your chakra understanding and experience with more chakra-focused practices
  • Explore the transformational practice of ‘bhakti yoga’, the yoga of the heart, and how it relates to chanting
  • Continue building our ‘sangha’, our community of like-minded spirits, with optional dinners together after class every week

In rare circumstances, a student with prior experience of nada yoga from elsewhere may be permitted to join Nada Yoga Level 2 without completing level 1. If you have any questions or input, please contact Shaila:

Cancellation up to 48 hours prior to event date is possible subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Less than 48 hours’ notice of cancellation is only possible if we can fill your place from a wait-list.

About Shaila

Shaila is a prominent figure in the nada yoga community. With a background in singing and performing arts, nada yoga was Shaila’s initial entry point into the field of yoga. Since then, she has studied and taught many forms of yoga both at home in Sydney and abroad.

Shaila’s preliminary training in yoga was a two-year, full-time Diploma of Yogic Studies, which provided immensely experiential and in-depth teachings into many branches of yoga practice and philosophy, including nada yoga.

In 2012, Shaila moved to India to work as an editor for the Yoga Publications Trust at the Bihar School of Yoga, India. The exceptional wealth of specialised knowledge and experience she acquired during this period has become a unique, invaluable asset to her teaching.

Shaila currently teaches regularly at yoga schools and retreats around Sydney and NSW, as well as performing with her kirtan group Sound Samadhi, which has been providing nada yoga experiences to the community since 2011.

Her passion as a yoga teacher and facilitator is connecting people with their own innate power and beauty and, as a consequence, recognising and supporting those same qualities in others.
