During the first of a series of monthly Body Soul Workshops, held at Qi Yoga Freshwater in Sydney, we will focus on the science of stress management and deep relaxation for body, mind and soul.

Feeling overworked or overwhelmed? Is your mind racing at times and you have difficulty concentrating? That tension in your shoulders, chest and back just won’t disappear?

Come and join me for a magical afternoon on Saturday, 13 April 2019 from 2:00-4.30pm to restore and rejuvenate your body and mind. This session will benefit anyone interested in learning more about stress (management), mindfulness and the positive benefits that yoga and meditation can have on your body, mind and nervous system.

Having experienced the effects of anxiety myself, I have learned and embodied how yoga, breath and meditation can be simple and most effective ways to reduce stress. Meditation and relaxation can help the brain to focus on what’s happening in the present, encouraging relaxation and overall wellbeing.

You are welcome – no matter your age, level of experience or capability.


What to expect

An afternoon filled with knowledge-sharing, connection and relaxation.

You will learn about:

  • The science of stress and its impact on body and mind;
  • The effects of long-term stress and stress responses; and
  • Techniques on how to minimise its effect on your body.


You will experience:

  • Breathing practices for stress management;
  • Additional tools to reduce stress and support overall wellbeing in day-to-day life;
  • A Restorative practice; and
  • Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep).

Cancellation up to 48 hours prior to event date is possible subject to a $5 cancellation fee.

Meet Josie

I am Josie, the founder of JoYoga. I started practising yoga about 14 years ago, after my mum suggested it as an alternative treatment for my sciatica, which left me paralysed at times.
I was resistant at first, but I soon found myself on a wonderful, challenging and rewarding journey. Not only did my body start to heal, I began to observe how the connection of movement and breath brought every aspect of my being – body, mind, emotions – together. And the practice continues.

I have 900 hours of training under my belt to guide you through your practice, including:

  • Hatha Teacher Training (420hrs) through Qi Yoga, Sydney
  • Yoga Nidra & Stress Management Teacher Training (20hrs) through Slow Yoga, Sydney
  • Yoga Therapy Level 1 Teacher Training (220hrs) through Adore Yoga, Sydney
  • Reiki Level 1 and 2 through Joan Miller, Sydney
  • Yin Yoga Teacher Training (50hrs) through Slow Yoga, Sydney, and
  • IYTA Post Graduate Diploma of Pre & Post Natal Yoga Teaching (150hrs), Sydney.
