ADV. DIP TCM, MEMBER ATMS

ACUPUNCTURE

Andrew’s passion for Acupuncture began after receiving treatment himself. Overwhelmed by the effectiveness of this form of therapy, he began studying it at the Sydney Institution of Traditional Chinese Medicine. His studies took him as far abroad as Guangzhou, China, where he worked for three months in the Guangzhou Hospital of TCM.

Over the years, Andrews own personal journey, plus his studies in TCM, have enabled him to understand the link between mind, body & spirit. What affects one, affects the other. Acupuncture is a true form of holistic therapy which not only treats the symptoms, but also the root cause of the problem by rebalancing the body’s internal environment.

While Andrew treats patients for a wide range of ailments - including headaches & migraines, muscular aches/pains, dizziness, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, PMT, back pain & sciatica - his particular area of interest lies within treating patients with mental health issues linked with:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Addictions
  • Insomnia

A common misconception about Acupuncture is that it is a painful procedure. In actual fact, it’s a very calming and relaxing form of treatment and many people have come to rely on it in order to improve their health and general well-being.

It is based on the concept that any ailment is due to an imbalance of the flow of energy (Qi) in the body. As Andrew places the tiny sterile needles into certain acu points around the body, the flow of Qi is stimulated and imbalances corrected, therefore improving the patient’s overall condition.

While acupuncture was founded in China centuries ago, today it is a very common form of treatment for people right across the globe. Acupuncture has stood the test of time because quite simply, it works.

Andrew is available at Qi Manly on Wednesdays and Fridays.
